*Twilight*

I finally saw Twilight last night!! Here are some of my thoughts....
(beware of spoilers if you haven't read the book or seen the movie yet)

Bad Stuff
1) Kind of cheesy at some parts
2) The feel was different than the book, the chemistry was there, but not the same (maybe they needed more time to develop the relationship, but couldn't fit it due to time constraints)
3) Edward seemed awkward! In the books he seemed perfect, but maybe I'm just remembering him that way.
4) I got woozy at the end of the fight scene when Bella was bleeding all over the ballet studio floor. I thought I was gonna pass out, so I had to take some deep breathes and put down my head for like 15 minutes or so. (this is why I can't give blood!)

Good Stuff
1) Great chemistry between the actors who played Bella and Edward
2) Stayed pretty true to the book (some scenes were excluded, but I understand they had to be to make it fit into 2 hours)
3) AWESOME fight scene between Edward and James!
4) Charlie and Carlisle were cast perfectly!! I absolutely loved the scenes with either of them.
5) Best part of the movie (what I remember, this is not word for word):
This is the scene when Edward wants to introduce himself as Bella's boyfriend to her dad (Charlie)
Bella: He wants to come formally introduce himself to you.
Charlie: Alright.
Bella: He's right outside.
Charlie: (sighs, then cocks gun) Bring him in.

Overall/Final Thoughts:
I really liked it!! I understand they couldn't fit everything into a 2 hour movie, but I think they did a pretty good job considering their budget and the time they had. It didn't feel like 2 hours at all; it felt much shorter because I really did enjoy it. I can't really blame the "getting woozy" part on the movie, actually, that probably should be a under "Good Stuff" because they made that scene seem so real. Overall, I liked it. Good job, Summit Entertainment! :)

Activity-Based Costing

For my accounting class, we don't meet for lecture two or three times a week like most other classes. Instead, we watch DVD lessons at home and take quizzes at our own convenience (I like this teaching method so much better than lectures). We still have lectures sometimes, but only every other week or so, depending on where we are in the material. So for my lesson tonight (activity-based costing), the teacher told us to take pictures of the screen and show it to our parents to prove we are truly learning and doing cool things in accounting because this stuff was pretty heavy and it looks intimidating....

So here it is! Stice says this picture is how we can show that our tuition money is going to good use :)

I am just loving my accounting class right now. I know it probably sounds boring, but sometimes I really think it's fun! I'm learning so much, and I'm so glad I decided to change my major.

Shout Outs :)

Some of the exciting things going on in life :)

1) Alison and Anthony: Congratulations on your engagement!

2) Happy Birthday, Mom!

3) Bon anniversaire to Haley!

4) Happy Birthday to Derek!

5) Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Gas Prices

The last time I filled up my gas tank for my car, I believe it cost around $59.

This is my receipt from filling up today.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Yeah, that's less than $35!!!

(Keep in mind, I get "Plus" because "Regular" in Utah is only 85.)

This makes me very happy :-D

A little bit of what's been going on...

I've been really busy lately! I had the busiest week ever last week, but this week is so much more lax, so I'm really excited about that :)

What's been going on lately:

1) For the past 2 weeks, I was competing in Pricewaterhouse Cooper's (PWC) xTax competition. No, it wasn't for class or extra credit, just to build up my resume a bit. Basically, we were on teams of 5 people and given a portion of a fictitious country's tax codes along with a presidential candidate's platform. We were then asked to come up with 3 changes to existing tax code to better fit the candidate's platform, evaluate the changes it would have on the economy, and present to a board of PWC partners. It was pretty intimidating, but it was a great learning experience, and my team was so great to work with! We didn't place or anything, but I'm glad I did it.2) I went to Preference with some of my roommates on November 8th. I've never been before (it's for freshman, right?), but Haley asked me to go, so we all went, and it was a blast! My favorite part was the yummy yummy cookies they had at the dance ;)
Aren't we pretty?? :)

The whole HaPpY bunch

3) Every morning, I go to campus early to participate in research. I play a game on the computer for 20 minutes, and afterward, they give me $2-4 for my time :) It pays for my lunch pretty much everyday! I'm also in another research study concerning letters to congress, and that one paid me $20 for 30 minutes of instruction/filling out questionnaires on Saturday! Being in psychology classes and signing up for research studies can really pay off :)

Things I'm looking forward to:

1) UTAH GAME ON SATURDAY!! 4 P.M. Mtn Std Time. Mark your calendars! We'll probably lose since we've not been playing to our potential lately, but I can't lose hope for the cougs.
2) THANKSGIVING BREAK! We only have two days of classes next week (one of which I don't even have class on), so after Monday, I get 6 days off from school! I cannot express how great that sounds.

3) SEEING HALEY'S PLAY TOMORROW! She's been working so long and hard on it, and I know it's going to be great! I can't wait :)

Finally ready for the snow

I haven't posted pictures in a while so here's one for you....

This is my beautiful new SNOWBOARD! It was kind of an impulse buy, but the deal was so good, and it was so cute, and I just decided to go for it. I originally wanted to buy skis, but the snowboard deals were so much better. And the sale ended yesterday, so what was I to do? So I went ahead a bought this and the bindings. Now all I need are some cute boots :)

I'm a little scared since I've only been snowboarding twice, but I really liked it, so this will help me learn better. As much as I hate the cold, I am actually really excited for the snow now!
